Is this Mercedes on of the Cosworth 190e's? I looked on Wikipedia and it seems the the only cars given a 2.5 liter engine were diesels, which I doubt were sold in America, and the Cosworths. So is it a Cosworth, or just another Merc? Or am I missing something? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Not a Cossie. I think it says 2.6 rather than 2.5. Those are not uncommon.

Its not a Cosworth, they have a body kit and a -16 on the rear I think. My Merc mechanic has one, he says they are a pain in the ass too.

Yeah, I'm not surprised. Too many things looked wrong, most notable the headlights.
Plus someone else mentioned that the back might say 2.6, not 2.5.

It didn't cross my mind until the third time I opened the ad in about that many minutes.

I don't know much about the Cosworth Mercedes but I would bet they were all manuals.

that does say 2.6 on there, and it would be a 190D if it were a diesel, which I believe the 2.5 came in exactly one year as and are highly coveted. You can tell by the louvers on the passenger side fender

So as others have pointed out. It's not a Cosworth. BUT, to debunk the other questions, they did offer the Cosworths in automatic, and there was a 2.5 cosworth. But I'm not sure if it was sold here, and it's incredibly rare.

No. Easy way to tell - the 190E 2.3-16 and 2.5-16 came with dog legged manual transmissions.

Need a better picture. I bet that's really a 2.6. If it was a 2.5L gas Cosworth engine, then it would say something like 2.5-16:
